Universal Orlando’s Holiday Celebration 2014!
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Guess what I had the privilege of seeing at Universal Orlando’s Holiday Celebration 2014? You couldn’t guess if you wanted to, it’s simply too much. I saw a man crawl out of the bottom of a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float (or should I say Balloonicle). I guess I never thought about how tight the area is where they have to drive. We received a new float/balloon this year named Chloe the Clown and she is beautiful. She’s made up to look like a European clown and I think she has character. She’s actually a balloon you can drive so she is fully grounded. Watch her ride down the streets of New York December 6th thru January 3rd along with so many other wonderful balloons and floats that you will see on Thanksgiving day on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Grinchmas
Of course there is always the Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular where little Cindy Lou Who tries to teach Whoville the true meaning of Christmas. In doing so she also melts the frozen heart of the one known as The Grinch. He’s a mean one, you see, he’s the Grinch. He’s got termites in his smile. But that won’t stop Cindy from bringing everyone together on this special day. Even Martha Mae Whovier will loosen up enough to celebrate in the festivities.
The Grinch is much like a Broadway production and every year I write up a glowing review. This year is no different. The musical is a must see for the costumes and set design alone. The singing and dancing is quite a treat if you ask me. And when it’s all said and done and Whoville, along with The Grinch and Max are stuffed full of Turkey, the crowd will get a finale to remember.
The Grinch can be found in Islands of Adventure December 6th-January 3rd. Don’t forget to stop by Seuss Landing to see all the Holiday decor while you play and ride the many rides and shop the shoppy shops. If you want to meet the Grinch himself there is a character breakfast available at Circus McGurkus Cafe!
Mannheim Steamroller
Finally for the adults reading who might love music like yours truly, I should tell you about Mannheim Steamroller. They play on select nights at Universal Studios Orlando and the lawn fills up fast. When you hear their Carol of the Bells you will get chills even if our Florida winters are betraying us with 84 degree temperatures.
